SA 516 Grade 65 plates and sheets are carbon steel alloys used for pressure vessel conditions. Their chemical makeup consists of carbon (0.24-0.28%), manganese (1.00-1.60%), phosphorus (≤0.025%), sulfur (≤0.025%), and silicon (0.13-0.45%), which provides strength as well as weldability. In a mechanical standpoint, they have tensile strength of 450-585 MPa, yield strength of ≥240 MPa, and elongation of 19-21%, which is perfect for high-pressure conditions.
