HB 400 Sheets and Plates boast a well-balanced chemical composition, typically featuring carbon levels between 0.05% and 0.15%, silicon from 0.4% to 1.4%, and manganese ranging from 0.5% to 2.0%, all while keeping phosphorus and sulfur content low. The addition of alloying elements such as molybdenum, niobium, copper, cobalt, boron, aluminum, and titanium enhances their hardenability and wear resistance. On the mechanical side, these plates deliver a hardness of about 400 HBW, tensile strength ranging from approximately 1200 to 1500 MPa, yield strength between 1000 to 1400 MPa, and elongation rates of over 1 to 3%, creating a strong blend of strength, toughness, and weldability that’s perfect for demanding wear applications.
