Crafted from chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, EN 19 Sheets and Plates typically contain 0.36–0.44% carbon, 0.75–1.00% chromium, and 0.15–0.25% molybdenum. This unique composition results in impressive tensile strength (800–1000 MPa) and yield strength of around 600 MPa when heat-treated. EN 19 also boasts excellent fatigue strength, wear resistance, and toughness, particularly after undergoing quenching and tempering. It offers good machinability and can be induction or flame hardened for enhanced surface durability. While it can be welded with care, EN 19 is especially prized for its mechanical performance in high-load, high-impact situations.
