Corten Steel S355J2W Sheets and Plates feature a well-balanced chemical composition, typically containing around 0.13–0.16% carbon, 0.4–0.5% silicon, 0.5–1.5% manganese, and minimal amounts of phosphorus and sulfur (up to 0.03%). They also include alloying elements such as copper (0.25–0.55%), chromium (0.4–0.8%), nickel (about 0.65%), and molybdenum (around 0.03%). In terms of mechanical properties, these plates have a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa, tensile strength ranging from 510 to 680 MPa, and an elongation of up to 20%. This combination provides excellent toughness, weldability, and enhanced corrosion resistance, making them ideal for structural applications exposed to the elements.
